Ankle Exercises for Weak or Unstable Ankles

30% of first time sprained ankles will go on to have long term problems. Appropriate rehabilitation after a sprained ankle, incorporating ankle exercises will reduce the chances of suffering from long term problems.

Traditionally ankle exercise programmes have focused on proprioception, and whilst this remains important it is now recognised that ankle exercises should be broader than this, often needing to address muscle problems higher up the leg.
