Skiers Thumb: a Common Thumb Injury, Explanation, Prevention and Treatment

Skiers thumb, also known as thumb sprain accounts for up to 10% of skiing injuries.  Usually caused by a fall onto an outstretched hand which forces the thumb backwards, skiers can minimise their risk of injury by correct ski pole grip technique.
